I installed Mandrake 7.0 on my notebook. This latop is
equipped with a NeoMagic chipset. The chipset was correctly
recognized upon installation, but I changed the following
(origial) section in XF86Config
Section "Device"
Identifier "NeoMagic (laptop/notebook)"
VendorName "Unknown"
BoardName "Unknown"
# VideoRam 1984
# Clock lines
EndSection
With the above section the XFree server was only accessing
the LCD-panel and not the external monitor. So I changed the
above section into:
Section "Device"
Identifier "NeoMagic (laptop/notebook)"
VendorName "Unknown"
BoardName "Unknown"
Option "intern_disp"
Option "extern_disp"
EndSection
Giving me exactly what I want.
