I tried to install last night and came across the following problem:

The Initio card is not being setup properly. The PCI auto-detection routine
works correctly
and detects the presence of the Initio card but then the modprobe / insmod
used to install
it fails with the following message:

/tmp/initio.o: kernel-module mismatch
/tmp/initio.o was compiled for kernel version 2.2.14-BOOT1
while this kernel is version 2.2.13-BOOT5

I tried installing using the latest version from rpmfind.net.

Could someone fix it so the correct version of initio.o is put together
with the
current kernel?

Also, once the Initio modprobe fails, drake will try to install the module
over and over
again at the end of each step of the installation process which really
goofs with
the flow.

Since the Initio card was not being recognized and therefore I could not
use my SCSI
CD-ROM, I had to try installing via ftp/http but ran into problems there as
well.

I configured my partitions so that in my / (root) partition, I had roughly
450 MB space
and my /home had roughly 1.5 GB free space. While installing via ftp, I
kept on stalling
at the point where the installation should begin when the drake would come
back and
tell me that

the /mnt/ partition needed 150 MB more space (or other similar numbers).

I tried to do the barest-bone install possible by picking Custom/Expert
Setup and told it
only to install the kernel and still got

the /mnt/ partition needs 10 MB more space (curse you .. :-)

Why can't drake look around and see if it can use some of the other
partitions besides the
/ (root) partition for storing the temporary files it needs to download
while installing Linux?
Alternatively, don't download the whole block of files at once but rather
at least offer the
option to download a single RPM at a time and install (sure it will take a
looong time but
sometimes that is much better than no install at all).

BTW, my /home and / partitions are on different hard drives (both IDE) and
can't grow any bigger
than current size due to other OS already installed.
