won't change this for 7.0, hopefully there in 7.1 :)
(i have already done the same for cdroms, give me more time!)

strange, that's XFree who chooses the resolution to use...

nasty. never happened here... could you mail me your /root/auto_inst* and
/root/ddebug.log ?

look at /var/log/urpmi.log for more 
i know error messages could appear more nicely :-/
