Greetings,

I've just installed Cooker on a second machine here, and noticed a
few more weird things in the installer.

1: When prompting for a NIC, it says "Found Adaptec 152x Net device,
do you have another?" (I _do_ have a 1520 Scsi adapter, which was
successfully setup eariler in the process)

I went ahead, and added my 3Com card, and proceeded normally.

2: When setting up the NIC as being automatically assigned an IP,
I couldn't see how to choose DHCP or BOOTP - The only option was to
choose automatic, which seems to default to BOOTP.

Changed to DHCP in Linuxconf, after rebooting.

3: When setting up NIC with a Static IP, I entered in the correct
netmask, IP, DNS, etc. After rebooting, Linuxconf had a netmask of
"255.0.0.0" - Not what I had entered during install. Also, the module
field was blank, so my system couldn't find the NIC at reboot.

Added the 3x509.o module in the module field, corrected the
Netmask, and activated changes - no problems.

And that damn permissions problem that prevents "normal" users from
starting X is STILL HERE! ;)

Has anyone successfully ran X as a regular user? If so, what magic wand
did you have to wave?

  Thanks

BTW: The new installer does look really great - it's gonna be a
show-stopper when complete!
