I really think that mandrake should make a pre-install of a kernal that
loads video drivers into the ram so that resolution and color depth isn't a
problem. Then it loads a simplified version of a gui of choice. After
installation is complete, it is dumped upon restart and it boots into the
regular lilo.
It should work even for those that still have 32mb of ram in their system.
Plus you'd obviously put in an opt-out selection at first for those that
have an old PC and can't use the enhanced installer.
If done right, it would set a trend with other linux distros and bring linux
ever closer to surpassing windoze.
