[Cooker] vortex sound card

I am on my way to UN windows. I found reference drivers for my vortex 1 sound
card. I ran sndconfig and it shows the new vortex drivers... I go to the next
step .. and it says .. "sound card not supported". If I have the drivers...
and it "sees" them. Why can I not try them to see if I can get my sound to
work? Is there a work around for this?
