I presently have my hybridized
L-M 7.0+Cooker+kde1+kde2 functioning
in a somewhat reasonable manner. Have recently
down an upgrade of the latest rpms except
for kernel, kde1 and XFree86.

This has been a "slash and burn" some force/nodeps,
but all in all produces decent results.
For example I am running L-M 6.1 on Server with
Client 7.0-Cooker hybrid exporting Display
kde1 and kde2 to separate XConsoles on Server
at the same time as well as several resident
WindowManagers on Server. Impresses the "locals"
and gets them interested! :>)

When attempting rpm -Uvh XFree86* I get the
conflicts with files from package
kdebase2-1.8.0.19991204 messages mainly
/usr/X11R6/lib/X11/fonts/misc/xxxx conflicts.

Any suggestions?

I will be attempting to upgrade the kde1 rpms
as well as kde2 and wonder what the proper
proceedure would be to keep both intact?

Thanks
