have install the 7.0 iso from ~ jan 08, and used rsync to update from
rpmfind.net. after "rpm" was used to install the updated rpms, my dispay
puts out some weird "@" characters throughout the screen on both startup and
shutdown. It's bad enough to where it screws with the:
"shutting down service -------- ok"
to show:
"shutting down service ----
------ ok"
or similar.
seems to be just due abnormal update process.
