I'm a bit of a newbie at this, but can't you have multiple kernals available if you place the images in /boot and then configure lilo to boot off one or the other by giving them different labels? Maybe that doesn't give you the same functionality as the RPM (I've never used a kernal RPM), but I had fairly good luck with it when I was configuring my roommate's computer to find his Zip drive. That might be a way to keep the kernel-linus for normal use and boot up into the other kernal when you want to use vmware. Hope this is of some help. Good luck :-) ______________________________________________________ Get Your Private, Free Email at http://www.hotmail.com
