[Cooker] Is dhcpcd bugged?

I used to access my corperate net with dhcpcd ( 1.3.17pl5-2 in Redhat ). Now I installed Mandrake 7.0 ( 1.3.18pl3-4 ). The dhcpcd always failed ( xmit errors ). I tried dhclient, it works perfect. but ifup, ifdown always call dhcpcd. My question: what's wrong with dhcpcd? Why dhcp-client is not used as default? Who decide which package to choose as DEFAULT?   /Mai
