Hi all:
I yesterday installed Linux-Mandrake 7.0 Complete ( the package distro).
I have the following problems, in no specific order.
1 DrakConf recognizes my ESS Solo1 sound card as an es1969.o module
instead of es1938.o. The "linus" test works but on checking the system
sounds under KDE, the sounds are cut short by 2 popping sounds.
2 When I try to play audio CDs with the CD Player app, I get the
following message:
CD ROM read or access error. Make sure you have access permissions to
/dev/cdrom"
Here's my fstab entry(edited):
dev/hda1 /mnt/DOS_hda1 vfat user,exec,conv=binary 0 0
/dev/hda2 swap swap defaults 0 0
/dev/hda3 / ext2 defaults 1 1
/dev/fd0 /mnt/floppy auto sync,user,noauto,nosuid,nodev,unhide 0 0
none /proc proc defaults 0 0
none /dev/pts devpts mode=0620 0 0
/dev/cdrom /mnt/cdrom auto user,noauto,nosuid,exec,nodev,ro 0 0
3 Floppy error: "mount: wrong fs type, bad option, bad superblock on
/dev/fd0, or too many mounted file systems"
/dev/cdrom is a symlink for /dev/hdc
If I try to mount from command line, message is "driver missing"
These are audio CD problems CD install went OK
