In retrospect, I could probably have included a little more information:
First of all:
0 ~ % rpm -q rpm
rpm-3.0.3-43mdk
Secondly, I should note that despite the errors above, Netscape works fine
after the install, in fact better than it did before (they appear to have
fixed a rather annoying bug that prevented me from signing into a certain
website). So, no problems really other than the scary messages...
