OK, this is totally unofficial and my opinion. I'm helping out a bit
with
the mandrake "port", I'm not employed by mandrake etc. etc.

As far as I know there is no ETA at the moment. Mandrake has got the
alpha
version running on their systems for quite some time now. They demoed it
at
the Paris Linux EXPO.
As far as I see they are still testing it. One of the main issues is to
get
it booting on all different flavours of alpha hardware. I myself own a
miata,
and am testing the mandrake "distro" on it. The installation works like
the
intel version --> just fine. The only issue I'm having at the moment
which
is preventing me from using it is that the filesystem is formatted with
a
"sparse superblock", and milo can't read that FS. So the kernel doesn't
get
booted.
So... if you want to see a mandrake distro coming out on the alpha
please
join in on the "cooker" development. Subscribe to the mailing list and
offer to test the distro on your machine.

Probably the lack of involvment of alpha-owners in the cooker project. I
beleive
I'm pretty much the only one (Could all alpha owners on the cooker list
raise
their hand?).
