S'okay, sorry about the glib reply (although I still think it's good advice,
I finally got so tired of Windows I went and replaced the last two bits of
hardware I had in my system that weren't Linux compatible and actually did
blow away Windows on my system -- unfortunately I need it for work but I
solved that problem with VMware).
I know for my Cisco 675 (DSL "modem" -- actually "modem" is a misnomer for
what it does, but people still call them that anyways <sigh>), no special
drivers are required. The Cisco 675 gets an IP from my ISP, and I simply
configure my ethernet to use that IP as a gateway, and voila, I'm on the
next with no drivers other than my ethernet card's driver. Unless the
5260 is some sort of internal card, I don't see why you'd need a driver
for it. I think you just need to setup your network settings properly.
(Exactly how to do this depends on whether you have static or dynamic IP,
NAT enabled, and all sorts of other hoary details, though. Good luck
getting any help from your ISP -- run "winipcfg" under Windows, write
down all the numbers, then enter them in the appropriate spots when
configuring Linux, that frequently is all you really need to do.)
