The reason for the problem with your Matrox M2 in the SRM is because of its
bios and how it needs to pass information from the video bios. There have
been quite a few postings about this on the redhat alpha list. I'm certain
that it is in the archives. I believe that the same problem still exists for
the Voodoo also. To be certain you would want to check the archives.
How did you get console on your alpha during the Mandrake install? If I kill
X then the install exits. I cannot get it to boot succesfully and pass ANY
variables to the kernel. I don't have any serial equipment to be able to get
a serial console. Sorry to be so problematic. I think that your solution
would work for me if I could figure out that part.
