not to start an argument but to enlighten slightly:
just email beos tech support and was advised the "beos" doesn't work with the
latest h/w such as the geforce vid card. in linux, i have no real problems
with newer h/w unless it's usb, which the 2.4 kernel will resolve. "be" has no
support for this stuff yet.
the high-point i think for "Be" is that it does a nice job from what i hear
with video. but h/w support is limited and the s/w is very "thin".
of course, most of us that have been using linux for awhile already know this
if they "poked-around" w/ beos.
