BitchX-1.0c16 SRPM Released
---------------------------

I have just finished uploading BitchX-1.0c16 and gtkBitchX-1.0c16 SRPMS to
linux-mandrake.com/incoming. For those who don't know, BitchX is the most
popular IRC (Internet Relay Chat) client for UNIX. It also runs on OS/2,
MacOS, and Win32. On some OSes and configurations, BitchX can have a
semi-graphical interface, but is best know for it's not-so-user-friendly
curses interface.

This release is from the 1.0 development series, but is considered to be
as or more stable than 75p3. 1.0 will be the first release since 75p3 was
released.

This release also includes gtkBitchX, which adds graphical menus and
dialogs, as well as multi-windows and a nicklist, to BitchX using gtk+ and
gnome-libs (zvt) for term handling. gtkBitchX uses the same codebase as
console BitchX, but currently there was no way for me to provide it as one
source RPM or .spec.

This release includes literally hundreds of changes from 75p3, including
scr-bx, which provides a way for users to detach BitchX and reattach to
the process at a later time, and gtkBitchX which was mentioned above.

NOTE: The tarball in the two SRPMS is NOT the pristine 1.0c16 source, and
you will not find this incarnation anywhere else. This release includes
various changed I have made, a lot of which will make it into the 1.0
release. Some of these changes I consider important (and some of the
installation was important to Linux Mandrake in particular) which is why I
uploaded this version.

I say this so no one worries upon finding out that it differs some from
the original tarball, and also to say this is a WIP, so DO NOT bother the
BitchX author with any stupid mistakes that have been made, because it is
probably something I did, so please bother me instead.

That having been said, I hope you enjoy, and will include this in Cooker
(I had hoped to have it in before the 7.1 freeze).

David Walluck
