Try the GNOME Control Center. The can change the look (including fonts)
of
your GTK widget via the themes entry. If you can't find it via the menu,
start it via 'gnomecc' from a X terminal. The Control Center is included
in the RPM package control-center-1.0.53-2mdk or newer.
BTW. The thin lines on top and bottom of tree entries are a feature not
a bug. I like them. But there are many themes without them. Additional
themes can be found under http://gtk.themes.org . They can also be
installed
via the GNOME Control Center.
