Subject: [Cooker] Udma 66 Problems
I would like to install, but ...
I have 1 hard drive on each of two ata/66
controllers (ide 3 and ide 4). I have my cdrom's on ide1 and
ide2.
When I boot the 7.1 cd, it installed ata/66
drivers it seems, but when it comes time to partition the drives, install says
it can't find any drives.
When i installed 7.0, install said that linux
does doesn't currently fully support ata/66, but that it would make a boot
disk, which it did and everything installed fine (except upon boot i got an
error message saying that kernel doesn't recognize /dev/hdb as a block device
or something).
What can i do to get 7.1 to see the hard drives?
I guess it can't install to devices at /dev/hde or beyond.
