It's an Add-on to Emacs and under an odd BSD stile license.  with 
the addition that you NOT advertise the names of the sponsors.  
Sounds like it's more than good enough to me.

A few tips for whoever takes up the task of packaging this.  

1. combine it with IBM's ViaVoice outload or another text to 
speech engine that works through the standard Linux sound driver. 
( 3 exist )

2. institute some way to make it the whole interface for a blind
user.  adding it to the shell selection would be nice 
( csh / bash / blindsh )

I would do it myself except that I honestly don't know how.  I 
tried a few months ago and my girlfriend ended up sticking to 
jaws on Windows 98.  that sucks and I would appreciate the help.
Wendy would appreciate the stability.
