I wanted to try out the new mandrake, as well as contribute to the
debugging process. First I explain what I did, next the errors I
discovered.

Machine:
Asus P2B/Celeron 300@375
Diamond Viper 550
Fujitsu x191 19" Monitor
20GB DiamondMax 40+
HP8200 CD-burner
128MB RAM
PCI NE2000 (based on realtek 8029)
Logitech Mouseman+

Downloaded the hydrogen2-ext.iso and hydrogen2-inst.iso, and burned them
to CD. So far so good.

Started the installation process, every thing looked nice.

Chose "custom" install, chose everything except Databases, partitioned
the harddrive with ReiserFS, added a swap partition, chose to install
100%, and it did (changed CDs, when the first CD popped out). Configured
printer, Network, Rootpw, added one user, and configured X, and chose to
enter X on boot.

Rebooted, the installation went flawless (no chrashes, no funny stuff)

Now I had to see how well the distribution had installed:

On boot there were some error messages:

1. When it checks module dependecies A unresolved symbol in module
net_sheep appeared.

2. Some errormessages about USB, but My guess is that it is because I
disabled the USB in BIOS.

3. Some files are missing:
/var/log/mail.warn
/var/log/mail.err
/var/log/news.crit
/var/log/news.err
/var/log/news.notice

The X login screen looked fine. Login in to KDE revealed that the menu
system dont work, only a few programs in them, and as far as I remember,
no KDE apps (and no xterm!!).

Started xterm by choosing "execute command" on right mouse click. were
able to start kcontrol, but no menu items were in it. could not find
kappfinder, so no menu items were added.

logged out and shutted down the PC, got an error message about AUMIX,
something about that it were unable to save.

Thats about the experience I got from it.
