Finally got round to installing the 7.1b iso image I dragged down the
other day.
Found 1 installation bug:
-> upgrade option (of a 7.0 (Air) system)
-> "Expert" mode
-> Select everything, choose to install 100%
During the rather boring 2 1/2 hrs of upgrade, I did CTRL-ALT-F2 to
allow me to do a "df" and check on how the disk space was going. Upon
return to the installation screen (CTRL-ALT-F5), the image on the screen
is very, very messed up where the progress bar and other changing data
appears. Installation proceeds, of course. Probably an issue for
former windoze users - this should be fixed prior to release.
H/W summary:
Dual Pentium-200MMX, 128MB, 4MB Matrox Millenium PCI FB, 2x4.5GB SCSI
disks on Adaptec 2940 controller. I think that's all that is relevant.
BTW: Congratulations on the installer. Very slick, very nice. This old
box now flys - the X performance is really sparkling!
Cheers
/Kevin
