The VIA apollo pro+ motherboards come with onboard sound cards; These are configured wrongly with 7.1b. LM7.1b configures them to work with the OSS sound module for SB compatibility which is only a DOS option on the card (8 bit sound) and does not work. The OSS module will not work at this stage with this sound card. sndconfig detects it correctly as VIA82CXXX card but then fails to get it working. Sounddrake also fails to configure this card (it sees an SB compatible card). The only successful configuration I've managed to do is by installing ALSA which is included in the distribution, and it works very well. Is it possible to add this to sounddrake? (This is beyond my skills I'm afraid). Con ________________________________________________________________________ Get Your Private, Free E-mail from MSN Hotmail at http://www.hotmail.com
