[Cooker] make is failing

Hi,

the latest vesrion of make seems to be causing some troubles.

it's not working on makefiles properly (sometimes it fails with an error,
but the makefile is correct), not to mention random segfaults on alpha.
hackgimp was once broken, i suspect it is a make problem.

could we have make 3.78.1 (which seems to be a LOT more stable)?
