When I checked through the console, it looks like it searches for the mirror, fails to find it or get in, falls asleep, and tries again over and over. However, from the installer interface standpoint, the user is left in the dark as to what is happening. Worse, he has no easy way of canceling this loop. There needs to be clearer dialogue as to what the machine is happening, ITS STATUS, and an ability to choose an action (e.g., cancel the update).
