   What you will find, is that the OSS detection routines set up the wrong
   stuff
   in /etc/conf.modules

   It might be prudent to figure out the correct settings, and send them on 
to
   the mandrake peoples for inclusion with the OSS setup routines.


Not quite I'm afraid. The OSS module does not work for this card (I've
checked). It sees it as SB compatible which is only true with the DOS device
(8 bit) which is all but useless. Native OSS drivers for this on board sound
card don't exist yet. Thanks for the reply anyway. If ALSA was to be
included I'd be happy to donate my configuration files for that.
