description:
After I upgraded to RC2 from RC1, I used MCC to change the parameters of LILO to
add the definition of hdc as "ide-scsi". I need to either do this after
install/upgrade of during install, since the previous LILO settings are always
removed after install of a new kernel.
When I went into MCC, and down to Boot->DrakBoot, then clicked on the
"configure" button for LILO/GRUB, MCC asked for the i18n disk (to install
acpid), the the "installation 1" disk to install acpi. When I had completed the
change of LILO, I did not notice that the "launch graphical environment"
checkbox was unchecked. Rebooting the system to use the new LILO parameters
dropped me into a command shell. Logging in as root and launching "mdkkdm" got
X up and the login panel was displayed.
I then launched MCC, and tried to check the "launch graphical environment" box,
but MCC asked for "installation 1" again, and refused to load the "missing"
file. Cancelling out of this loop took me back to the MCC screen. Exiting from
MCC and rebooting the system took me back to the X login that I expected.
Right now, the system seems to be working, but the "launch graphical
environment" checkbox is still unchecked.
