After reboot I got "Already in UTF-8 mode" on console (I use runlevel 3). I have iocharset=iso8859-1 in fstab, so that is probably the problem. First I noticed that font in xmms (and other gtk1 apps) is too big, second the file dialog was not able to browse dir tree correctly. On the roght list, where should be only files, I got the entries like this: ../mp3/David Bowie - Lodger/01.mp3 along with the files from some othe directory I did not chose.
