I suppose you could export anything you'd like, but the clients won't be
doing much if you change it.  The idea of exporting "/" is so you don't
have to duplicate a good portion of the system as you do with an ltsp type
setup. With CD space being at a premium, plus the fact that ltsp isn't
available as source, this approach seemed most practical to ship with the
distribution.
