           Product: kdebase
         Component: kdebase
Summary: Java-Apps don't get requester for webproxy
                    authentication
           Version: 3.1-77mdk
          Platform: PC
        OS/Version: All
            Status: UNCONFIRMED
          Severity: normal
          Priority: P2
        AssignedTo: [EMAIL PROTECTED]
        ReportedBy: [EMAIL PROTECTED]

In campus network we have squid-proxy with authentication.

Konqueror is doing right in bringing authentication request for proxy and is
also caching these data items.

I've installed original Sun Java 1.4.1_01 and konfigured it inside konqi.

When surfing with konqueror to java-webpages, and java apps also need proxy
transit for content, there are some error messages and complaints.

Mozilla is doing well with same equipment and is showing the java requester.

Probably konqui isn't allowing java to open the requester window, because Java
Console is showing the right proxy address.

My trials: http://hpux.asknet.de, no flags are showing

             http://www.izb-hb.de/info/blb/IHBCheck.htm, with "access denied"
... "Socketpermission www.izb-hb.de resolve"

Good Luck and thanks for your efforts to free software.

With regards

juergen
