Could someone please try out if the firewire part works??
I can verify that it gets activated/recognized in
/proc/bus/ieee1394/devices
but I dont have any firewire hardware to try it with...

and please send me some feedback how it works...

This is a the mdk standard kernel linux-2.4.21-0.13mdk + my changes:
http://www.iki.fi/tmb/Cooker/linux-2.4.21-0.13mdk-TmB_3.tar.bz2

Just unzip/untar it to / and run the included Install, and reboot...

Here is the file that shows changes from linux-2.4.21-0.13mdk
http://www.iki.fi/tmb/Cooker/linux-2.4.21-0.13mdk-TmB_3.diff.bz2

The primary changes in this is:

TMB_3 kernel:
* added nForce2 Firewire support...
* some more code cleanups

TMB_2 kernel:
* ide subsystem is from linux-2.4.21-pre5-ac2 wich IMHO has better handling
  of ide devices, including nForce/nForce2 UDMA100 support...
* Code cleanups to reduce build errors
        - dmi_scan.c
        - agpgart_be.c
        - ...

* Corrected/added some textlines...
        - Configure.help
        - ide/Config.in
        - ...

* Corrected/added some pci.ids...

It's working great here, and I have tested it with:
- laptop with Intel BX chipset
- "workstation" with nForce2 chipset
- server with HPT370 chipset

I wouldlike yo here from all how it works, especially from
Promise users, since I cant test that here...

Have Fun...

Thomas
