description:
These bugs were found in Mandrake Linux 9.0 and 9.1rc2. They are likely to be
present in earlier versions, too.

The Latin-2 bug

If LC_CTYPE=hu in /etc/sysconfig/i18n then you cannot type Latin-1 characters in
KWord, KMail or other KDE applications. Using the US International keyboard
layout, the back quote key (`) followed by a vowel should output a grave vowel
but you get Central European characters instead, e.g. `a output r_acute instead
of a_grave, or `e output c_caron instead of e_grave.

The UTF-8 bug

If LC_CTYPE=hu_HU.UTF-8 in /etc/sysconfig/i18n then you can type any character
but legacy window titles display a blank box for a string of an accented vowel
and a following letter. Processes like the "Copy File(s) Progress" or GNOME
applications such as The GIMP have legacy window titles. There is no problem
with the window titles of KDE applications.
