------- Additional Comments From [EMAIL PROTECTED] 2003-03-12 06:57 -------
Upon further investigation, I think it has to be a software problem somewhere in
the shutdown/logout/restart script for all the window managers because when it
hit ctrl+alt+backspace, X goes back to the login screen just like normal and
without problems! If I have any more information regarding this bug, I'll
deffinately post about it.

Steve

description:
I will go into kde or gnome (same problem for either one) on my laptop and I
will select shutdown. The screen goes black but the computer still runs until I
finally shut it down 7 minutes or so later by pushing the power button. When I
restart I select "Y" when I go to restar the next to to check my partitions and
file systems and it gives me a "***REBOOT LINUX***" error and then asks if i
want to fix any errors. I select yes and all works until I go to shut down
again. Everything works well in 9.0 but after the upgrade to cooker I had these
problems.

I hope this bug is submitted to the proper section.

Cheers
Steve
