This is misguided, with regard to ALSA. The ALSA 0.5 series has been deprecated for a long time, and ALSA have been recommending the usage of the 0.9 series for equally long, notwithstanding the fact it hasn't had a "stable" release till now. Every distro which includes ALSA has used the 0.9 series for some time, it's not just Mandrake. -- adamw
