------- Additional Comments From [EMAIL PROTECTED] 2003-03-12 15:10 ------- gc said: I disagree - the situation was resolved removing a DIMM, and acpi/apic problems would still have me see the same symptoms even with less memory, right? Also, the problem also exists in 9.0 with 1G in the box, on the installed system. This was on a different, single CPU box with other hardware. My box is an SMP box, that in itself may pose some problems, but then again - why does it work when I remove 512Megs of RAM? My take on it is that the kernel should be 4G-enabled to allow those with 1G or more of memory to install without having to open their boxes. Important if you want the big fish to use Mandrake ;) ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug, or are watching someone who is. ------- Reminder: ------- assigned_to: [EMAIL PROTECTED] status: UNCONFIRMED creation_date: description: Trying to load the installer kernel after isolinux loads hangs the machine with flashing caps/scroll lock LEDs. Is highmem enabled in the installer kernel? I will try to remove a DIMM and see what happens. (h/w is dual MP1900 on ASUS A7M266-D mobo, 1G RAM, various other stuff).
