-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE----- Hash: SHA1 The IBM Thinkpads are more usable with a driver specific to them. The driver is GPL, but has not yet been submitted for inclusing in the kernel. A tool, tpctl, is available which makes these functions available (disabling serial/ir port etc).
I have packages of both, and would like an answer as to whether these could go into contrib until they make it into the Mandrake kernel. Other thinkpad users are free to test the packages in the meantime, which can be found here: http://ranger.dnsalias.com/mandrake/cooker/thinkpad-4.1-2mdk.src.rpm http://ranger.dnsalias.com/mandrake/cooker/thinkpad-2.4.21-0.11mdk-4.1-2mdk.i586.rpm http://ranger.dnsalias.com/mandrake/cooker/tpctl-4.3-1mdk.src.rpm http://ranger.dnsalias.com/mandrake/cooker/tpctl-4.3-1mdk.i586.rpm (This was meant to be the laptop-tailored release, so it would be sad not to see these in contrib). Any comments? Otherwise I will upload tomorrow morning ...
