------- Additional Comments From [EMAIL PROTECTED] 2003-03-13 22:50 -------
I just checked with RC 2, the problem is still there.

BUT:
I forgot to mention that the mouse, keyboard, monitor is connected by a kvm
switch (roline MasterView plus CS-114). It is the culprit. If I connect the
mouse directly to the PS/2 port, everything works fine. If it is connected by
the kvm switch, I have to install in text mode, but as soon as xfree is started
after installation, the mouse is recognized correctly.

Same problem with 9.0 and at least the last 8 release. There was no problem with
the kvm switch and the 7.x releases and earlier.

Just as an additional information (not as a sort of blaming mdk): SuSE has had
the same prob with release 8.0/8.1 but has solved it with the current 8.2 beta,
redhat never hat a problem with it.
