Yes, this bug is still present. I think I know why as well. The VFS lock patch
seems to be "mostly" in the kernel now, however there is one file that either
did not get patched or got reverted or overwritten or something. The file
drivers/md/lvm.c still has it's "pre-vfs-lock" contents.
If drivers/md/lvm.c got patched as per the vfs-lock patch this bug would
probably be fixed and closed.
I have tried to reassign this bug to chmouel, hopefully he can see what is going
wrong with the lvm patch. I hope he does not mind my re-assigning the bug to
him. :-)

The kernel desperately needs the vfslock patch from the LVM project in order to
support snaphots of journalled filesystems. Since Mandrake Linux supports LVM
and it also supports journalling filesystems, it not supporting LVM snapshots of
journalling filesystems is simply a bug.
