I decided to revert back to 9.0 and now my sound system is all completely back to normal - no changing of settings, no jumping, no stuttering, no KMix problems. Hopefully all of this information might help someone cleverer than me work out what's wrong with sound in 9.1RC2. Volume is very low and when playing anything it crackles a lot and there is a lot of hiss. I tried adjusting volume in mixer but I couldn't get sound to normal. Sound worked just fine in Beta 3.
