------- Additional Comments From [EMAIL PROTECTED] 2003-03-15 03:21 ------- Yes, this problem still exists. You have to relate Chinput with fonts-ttf-big5 in rpm dependence. ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug, or are watching someone who is. ------- Reminder: ------- assigned_to: [EMAIL PROTECTED] status: NEW creation_date: description: Chinput shipped in Mandrake Linux 9.0 will be installed by default for Chinese users. However, the package "fonts-ttf-big5", on which Chinput depends, is not chosen to be installed by default. Thus Chinput in fact cannot be started, which in fact is a service of the desktop environment, which in fact leads the starting X to crash inevitably. The are two ways to solve the problem. The first is to add the required package "fonts-ttf-big5" in Chinput's depends (which could be queried by rpm -R). The second solution is to modify a certain line in usr/lib/ZWinPro/Chinput.ad from "chinput.big5font = -*-*-*-*-*--16-*-*-*-*-*-big5-0" to "chinput.big5font = -*-*-*-*-*--16-*-*-*-*-*-gb2312.1980-0" and now Chinput will no longer depends on fonts-ttf-big5. Either way is OK.
