Maybe this was an APIC issue? Booting the install kernel with 'noapic' should
fix this.
Marking as wontfix, since this is an errata-type issue and was handled as such
(but a better description of the apic issue should be made for 9.1 errata).

Trying to install cooker Mandrake Linux Cooker-i586 20020910 15:19.
from ftp.chello.se.
During network setup the installer fails to establish connection to the
dhcp server (nothing in the logs on the server side). Next step is to do a
static configuration. The kernel reports tx problems.
The machine runs 8.2 just fine.
