I totally second that. America is a very big country, and people are very
different from one coast to the other one. Moreover, "Americans" are not
Bush administration, like "French" are not Chirac and its government.
Government choose what is the best for their country interests, and the
rest, the speech we see on TV are very often far away from geopolitics, or
strategy. I don't know what are the interests of Chirac to risk a crisis
with US for Iraq petrol (since there was no option than war since the
beginning) but I guess there are not only ethical reasons. And in the same
way, Blair and Bush make me laugh when they say they want to remove a
criminal, who killed millions of people. Where were they in 88 when Hussein
used his nerve gas, he bought to occidentals, on Kurds in 88 ? Actually
these same politicians said that he was a good guy from 88 to 91, preventing
the islamic revolution to spread away in the region...

That this war will remove a tyran, I agree with it. That this war is in the
interest of Iraqis, I doubt it. That it will decrease terrorist risks, I
disagree. That there are no petrol interests (both side, Europe and US), let
me laugh ! I am against this war because a lot of innocent people will die
again, and survivors who will have their third war in 20 years will be
potentially ready to becaome the next Bin Laden.

So my American friends are still my friends. Most of them, who are from west
coast think Bush is a dumbass who succeeded to be elected by a coup,
removing black people from Florida electoral lists (read the book by Michael
Moore, "Stupid White Men"). And if one of my American friend should consider
me as an enemy now, I would not think he his still a "friend" (however, he
has the right to disagree with me).
Just 2c of euros thoughts.
Eric
