using the XFree86-server-4.3-6.1mdk.i586.rpm posted for bug #2741 fixed all problems
related to this bug, I HIGHLY recommend getting this into errata and cooker ASAP.

I have a brand new cooker machine installed with a ATI A-I-W Radeon 7500 (Radeon
QW), unfortunately I cannot use 3D support for the card at this time due to a severe
lock-up of the system that occurs when DRI is activated. The system is completely up
to date except for the kernel (2.4.19-16mdk) When X11 is started with DRI turned on it
not only hangs, the screen seems to artifact really badly. It hangs so badly that I
have
to hard reboot the system. Any help would be appreciated.
Below is my current XF86Config-4 (created with the KDE X-config tool). The modified
