Hi ,
it may be a newbie question, but is there a how-to, or other documentation
how to build a custom kernel rpm/ src.rpm ,

i tried to build a kernel based on kernel-2.4-linus,
but when the build proccess got to depmod after compressing the modules,
it failed with a lot of bla bla .gz is not elf format,
so i had to remove the compression of the modules.
How should i try to fix this.

i also wanted to ask are there some patches,
which are needed for normal operation of a MDK system.
like alsa-driver(should i downgrade to 0.9b8), sgi's xfs,
(2.5's ntfs is it needed? ),
supermount ( where could i find patches for 2.4.20? ),

what else ?

also how the ... works the naming of the package,
i ended today with kernel-2.4.20my-kernel.i586.rpm,
with modules in /lib/modules/2.4.20my-kernel
but 'uname -r' gave me 2.4.20-my-kernel,
so it couldn't find the modules

for info on the kernel i'm cooking visit:

for more info on the project:
official site: http://startx.times.lv/
my modified version: http://varna.demon.co.uk/~svetlio/aivils2/

hm,
one more question,
it probably not the right place but i'll try also here :)
could some one help me for this project, with compiling some
packages on MDK-8.2 & MDK-9.0 ?

thanks a lot

regards,

svetljo
