I solved it by doing the following: - rpm -Va | grep '[oO]pen' reported the following: Unsatisfied dependencies for OpenOffice.org-1.0.2-5mdk: OpenOffice.org-i10n = 1.0.2, OpenOffice.org-i10n >= 1.0.1-8mdk I inserted Mandrake 9.1rc2 disk 3 and installed the following: OpenOffice.org-i10n-en-1.0.2-5mdk.rpm This solved my problem. I am concerned that the installation never asked for disc 3. It did ask for an International CD which I don't have. I tried inserting disc 3 when it prompted for the Intl CD but it didn't work. I've noticed that there are several packages I've had to install manually from disk 3 to get the system working.
