Yes, "acpi=off" was in lilo.conf after
installing 9.1rc2!  It doesn't help though.

See, the ECS K7S5A motherboard has a nice "APIC disable"
which cures all my blues, but the LeadTek 7350KDA lacks
such an option.  I suspect not many people have this
non-mainstream product though.

It sounds like people are aware of these APIC/ACPI issues...

Also, after installation, "noapic" must be manually
added to /etc/lilo.conf for most anything to work...
