Just some little various things I noticed during the installation:
o In expert mode, Individual Package Selection was not selected by
default, it used to be.
o rpmsrate has a bunch of packages that no longer exist, and xlockmore
is listed twice with priorities 3 and 4.
o Standard security level gives me level 2. I thought it was 3?
o Configuring my PCI Rage 6 (Radeon), it gave me XFree86 4.3 with
hardware acceleration by default. The X test worked. Upon boot of the
system, it freezes when X tries to start. Rerunning XFdrake and going
without hardware acceleration fixes it. It seems the X test during the
installation didn't go with dri enabled. Also it seems DrakX wants to
enable dri for this card, even though it doesn't work.
o Even though Summary includes services selection, hitting next took me
to services selection (even though I had already done that).
o I edited fstab from the second virtual console, either during or soon
after services selection (either that or on the last screen). After
installation, all my additions to fstab had disappeared!!!
After the installation I noticed a few things too:
o A file named /dhcpcd not owned by any package (it's in /).
o Log in as root in KDE and you get a busy cursor on the background
(already reported by others)
o Log back out, hit Shutdown, click Reboot, the failsafe image in LILO
is selected by default (instead of linux). These could cause some
people problems.
Not included in this e-mail were things I just reported in seperate
e-mails (LDAP configuration, glibc install error, Bug 3509).
Re-iterating things I reported last week:
o Can't hit back button after choosing root password
o Unneccesary installation of dhcp-client/zcip when another dhcp client
already installed
o X test, background is gray (reported by others)
o xadmin service has no description
