yes it is true, I did not beta test the install part of mdk9.1, I was concentrated on the 'post install parts' only, which is a huge work. There were no such problems on 9.0 install, so I might assume theses parts have been rewritten for 9.1 but not really tested. Am I the only one in the cooker community to do text mode installations ? I hope no ;) But what worries me much is that installation is what mdk customers will see first of mandrake linux and that could give them some bad feelings about the distribution... > > - advanced option selection for language / keyboard / etc panels > > They are NEVER taken into account. once you have choosen an option in the > > basic selection, you can select what you want in the advanced option > > list, it > > > will NEVER be taken into account. > > AFAIK. the "advanced" option is there to make *additional* languages > available, *not* to set the language used for installation etc. try to change keyboard or language or country or lilo boot option (text vs graphical) at the final summary panel in novice text mode -> I wish you good luck :) hope no review of mdk91 will test that... > > - in the final installation panel, try to change from lilo graphical > >boot to > > lilo text boot option ==> the UI will revert to lilo graphical > > File a bug. i will :) > > - drakboot in text mode does not allow you to change anything (just do > > the > > test - try to disable acpi ou change from graphical to text lilo -> no > > avail) > > - drakfloppy text mode : how do I change the options (replay/manual) > > with the > > keyboard ? > > <TAB> cycles between 'Language' / 'OK' / 'CANCEL' > > <SPACE> cycle between 'replay' and 'manual' in 'Language' > > how do I reach the other options below ?? > > > > I can't believe no one has tested all these tools ? > > Who would have if you didn't?
