Product: webmin
Component: program
Summary: Webmin SAMBA User Conversion exempts "nobody"
Version: 1.070-1mdk
Platform: PC
OS/Version: All
Status: UNCONFIRMED
Severity: normal
Priority: P2
AssignedTo: [EMAIL PROTECTED]
ReportedBy: [EMAIL PROTECTED]
The "Convert Unix UserIDs" panel in Webmin's SAMBA section contains a list of
system-type IDs to be excluded from the group of Unix IDs for which Samba IDs
will be created. The exclusion list contains the ID "nobody", but if you turn
on debugging/logging and look in the /var/log/samba/log.(host) files, there are
messages about authorization failures for valid IDs then running into a further
problem because Samba tries to use "nobody" for guest access and can't find the
ID. I'm not a Samba expert, but this looks like a problem.
