Hi

Am still getting the "KDEInit could not launch 'kfmclient'" message when I try to open the trash or if I create a new directory on my desktop and then try to access it.
Created a new user and it also happens there.

This system was created from a fresh cooker back in late january and updated everyday with all available updates. It's been at 9.1 (bamboo) for a couple of days and has started to update again in the last 2 days, though the updates I saw where mainly rpmdrake and urpmi stuff.

kdebase-3.1 is still at 83mdk

Thanks for any help

Serge

Have you tried moving away your old KDE configuration (~/.kde and ~/Desktop) and letting a fresh one be created?

While a bugfix is made, there is a way to manually correct this bug. You
have to copy the files kfmclient.desktop, kfmclient_dir.desktop, kfmclient_html.desktop and kfmclient_war.desktop from
/usr/share/applnk/System/ to your ~/.kde/share/applnk-mdk/ directory. This
will fix the annoying dialog pop-up.

this is an old email sent in thi ml regard francesco

I did try with a fresh created user like I mentioned earlier this week and it still happens.
I will try the copy of those files. So every time I create a new user I will have to manually copy those files to the new users .kde directory? Hope this is not the case with the boxed released version of 9.1

Thanks

Serge
